Who makes the best doughnuts in Tacoma? We want your vote

Read Next

Ask a Tacoman which local shop makes the best doughnuts, and you’re likely to get a singular answer.

At least, that’s what I thought — until I started sharing some doughnut opinions on social media. Turns out there are plenty of allegiances.

Now the time has come to make your voice heard on this very important topic. Who makes the best doughnuts in town?

We collected every shop in and around Tacoma dedicated to the fried rings, glazed and sprinkled and twisted and frittered. The list landed on 15, circling shops also with addresses in Fife, Puyallup and Lakewood. Curiously, beyond Milkvue Handcrafted Donuts & Coffee, there are no other shops in Gig Harbor.

Our choices reflect availability and accessibility, which means new-school concepts such as Legendary and Top Pot are included. They, too, make most of the basics — raised, old-fashioned, cake, cruller, twist, bar, fritter — and so they deserve a shot at the title. The list excludes supermarkets and pop-ups, as well as Mochinut, which opened last year in Lakewood, because the franchise exclusively sells the rice-flour mochi doughnuts (and Korean hot dogs). We’d like to compare the classics.

As you cast your votes, I will continue the challenging work of analyzing each and every shop. We will reveal the results of reader tallies in February, along with TNT Diner’s hard truths.

Vote for the best Tacoma doughnut shop below. If you don’t see the survey, you may have reached this page through a Google .amp link; you’ll need to use this HTML link to view.

Did we forget one? Do you have pressing doughnut thoughts to share? Email TNT Diner.
